Atmospheres and Visual Narrative at the Teatro Español
The work involved creating a visual language that would dialogue with the text and the staging, using projection as a tool for spatial and emotional construction on the boards of the Sala Margarita Xirgu.
The Visual Concept
In "NOCHE", the video-scenography was conceived not as a static backdrop, but as a dynamic element that follows the rhythm of Llorente's direction. The challenge was finding the balance between technological presence and the organic warmth of physical theater.
- Mental Spaces: Creation of textures and environments reflecting the characters' inner world.
- Scenographic Integration: The video merges with the set's materials, avoiding the "screen effect" and pursuing real three-dimensionality.
- Dialogue with Lighting: A precision effort so that projection light and theatrical lighting coexist within a single chromatic and intensity palette.
Impact on the Production
The result was an immersive staging where video added extra layers of meaning to Llorente's text, achieving an aesthetic that was coherent, poetic, and deeply tied to contemporary theatrical narrative.
